SCHOOLS IN NEW YORK STATE THAT ARE NOT IN ADA COMPLIANCE

There are trade schools in New York State that are not in ADA compliance. What does this mean to disabled individual rights?  If your school/classrooms are on the second or third floor and the only way of accessing your classroom is via stairs, you are violating the rights of those with disabilities, specifically those in a wheel chair.  This is a NYS and Federal Violation and if requires you to make needed changes to accommodate those with disabilities.  We have surveyed multiple schools and found that the schools do not have ADA compliant bathroom/lavatory facilities. This is a clear violation on NYS and Federal guidelines. Further, classrooms must accommodate those with walkers, canes, crutches and those who use a wheelchair to be able to be mobile. In the next 120 days, testers (private testers) will be verifying ADA compliance of schools in NYS and sending the findings to both NYS and the Federal Government. Persons with Disabilities have rights and schools that do not comply with the rights of Disabled Americans should not be allowed to run and host classes in facilities which do not meet the strict interpretation of ADA compliant.
